Shelter Aide Volunteer

Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager (or a designated staff person), the Shelter Aide Volunteer Position provides needed assistance to the shelter staff member on duty and under the supervision of the staff member assists the client with completing his personal profile. The Shelter Aide Volunteer may also, assist the staff member by interviewing clients to complete the in-depth interview.

The requirements for this volunteer position include:
   Sensitivity and protection of client’s personal information;
   Ability to listen attentively in a non-judgmental and compassionate, respectful manner;
   Write/record legibly
   Follow policies and procedures
   Complete assigned tasks
   Ask for guidance/assistance as needed
   Document work and volunteer hours in accordance with Shelter practices
