Business liaison - independent contractor

Churches for Streets of Hope, Inc. (SOH), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking an Independent Contractor to coordinate event planning and networking with local businesses. The Business Liaison is responsible for executing Phase 1 of SOH’s new Workforce Development Program, whose ultimate goal is to have local, readily-available employment for the men SOH serves through our cold weather shelter program.

Phase 1 (2019-2020) brings local businesses and SOH together to discuss homelessness through free events. SOH will invite local business representatives to share in refreshments and meet in a group setting.

Events should provide SOH with information about the local business community’s attitude toward homelessness, note problems they face, and record any solutions they propose or are already enacting. SOH will provide local businesses with knowledge about how to interact with homeless neighbors, homelessness patterns, and services SOH and other organizations provide that could help them when they encounter homeless individuals. The Contractor will represent SOH by planning, organizing, and executing these events in collaboration with SOH staff, volunteers, clients and the Board of Directors.
